Beyond 25....

okay well this past week I wasn't as good as I should have been... not necessarily anything to do with my eating (yeah wendy's didn't help but I don't think the eating was the problem) but for whatever reason I just couldnt' get into drinking my water. At home our filter needed changed and so the water tasted funky.... at work I just wasn't into drinking anything... really I needed to.... when all was said and done I gained a whole .4lbs.... So i say ultimately I maintained.... still in the 254 range and that was the best part. This week I know is going to be better. I've got all my shopping done for the week (unless I run out of dishwasher detergent... I may i forgot to check before we went out yesterday)so really the only thing we have going are a few appointments during the week and my goal for today is to get the kitchen cleaned up the rest of the way and get the last bit of laundry caught up. It's Stake Conference so it wont be as long as a normal day of church and so we'll have plenty of time. and it also helps that I have most of the kitchen done already.

Breakfast today is going to be lemon poppy seed coffee cake from my bisquick cook book (i think it's one that mom gave us copies of... yellow and blue soft spiral bound book). I try to use my cook books a lot but like this one... for it's 9 servings that's 6 points... not too bad considering that it's about the same amount of points for the homemade oatmeal that I like to make. I've put the batter into my regular sized muffin pans and that gives me 12 muffins... at 5 points a piece... so the trick there will be to eat only one. I can scramble some eggs... that will give me another 2 points per egg.... and i may pan fry up a little bit of ham... so I'm figuring for under 10pts I can have a pretty nice breakfast.

Lunch is always tricky on sundays... sometimes we have it before church some times we just have a snack when we get home from church and sometimes we go straight to dinner.

One thing I am finding nice is that with the better weather we're able to go out on our bikes some more.... and that is something I realy enjoy. I get a good workout and we can do it together or I can do it alone. I sometimes prefer doing it alone because on the bike trail I feel safe wearing my mp3 player and there's a park that I can use as a way point for a 5 mile round trip.

I think my favorite thing about being 25lbs less of a person... (yay) is that it feels good... and people at work are starting to notice and feel less uncomfortable asking if I've lost some weight. I find it interesting that it takes a large number of loss to really show a visible difference, but all in all... my cloths are fitting better and I'm anxiously waiting for them to not fit again... in a good way. I've been able to wear two or three different shirts that I've never felt comfortable wearing because of they way they fit. But ironically i'm kinda living my weight journey in reverse.... I remember now when I was around this weight that I had trouble sleeping comfortably... for whatever reason... and now i'm having that trouble again. I am determined to reach another 5lb minimum loss in the month of March. I'd like to see larger because I think I can do it safely and still be healthy....

I did pretty good yesterday when Dave and I went out to lunch... we went to Applebee's and I have got to say they do NOT, i repeat NOT try to sell their Weight Watchers selections very well...they have nice pictures but the one (yeah ONE) salad that they have there is not very appetizing looking. The other stuff looks good but it has very little variety. I know they can make it a little more fun.... but they don't so I have ordered one item off of there once and it was good but... it made you feel a little cheated.... so I decided yesterday that I was going to lean towards healthy stuff and just see what happens. Well I ordered a 1/2 order of their Shrimp Spinach salad... (can i say HUGE!?) and then added a side of their French Onion Soup.... well I didn't realize that the French Onion Soup was going to be topped with a cheesy thingy... but it was sooooooo good... and no i do not believe it was low in sodium...by the time I was done with the soup my salad arrived and the only thing I feel slightly guilty about with that was that there was bacon crumbles on it... like real bacon... not sure what the dressing was but I think it was a vinaigrette... the shrimp was like taco seasoned... well spicy... not buttery or anything and that was delicious. Then I decided I'm not really full I'm kinda satisfied... I'll go for dessert. Well last time i was there I had followed Dave's prompting and got some double triple chocolate lava thingy with ice cream.... yeah... i felt bad after eating that... and I think I may have asked him if he was trying to sabotage me... well they have these little shooter things... that's just a shot glass with like cheese cake in it... well yeah I had the Strawberry Cheese cake one... it was maybe about... four or five decent bites... most of the whipped cream was easy to take off, it had fresh strawberries and the gram crackers at the bottom was just the crumbled stuff so I didn't even have to eat it (as if that was the worse thing in it ;) I felt pleasantly full and satisfied with my choices. I may not get the french onion soup next time (good as it was) but the salad was great and really... Dave has backed off in helping me order. It used to be that I would consider a salad as a meal and he'd point out other things that I would like and I'd generally decide with them. He supported the salad I picked saying it did look really good... and so I went with it and he thought it was good too. And he's started acting really proud of me and while I'm not trying to lose weight for him... it makes me feel good to know that he cares enough to now be finding it in himself to support me too. Well I'd better go check on breakfast and see what the cats are tearing up... :) more next week.
