Okay yeah it's been a while since I posted, been busy but also a little flustered. I kept gaining and losing the same 2-3lbs every other week, but the past two i've lost 1.6lbs each so I'm finally back to where I was at the start of April. *YAY*. So I am basically starting May at 248.6(scale ended on 248.4 but the lady doing the weigh-ins didn't see it.) And this morning I woke up to see 247.6... and I haven't seen anything ever (well in recent history) below 248, so I am taking that as a good sign.
Last week Dave and I came up with a compromise. We both realize that I need more exercise than I've been getting, but after I'm gone all day at work he'd rather I come home than go to the gym. Years ago we bought a PlayStation2 for the sole purpose of playing a game called Dance Dance Revolution (DDR)... basically you have a dance pad and you have to follow the steps on the tv screen and you get a great workout (seriously it's intense) and it's lots of fun. But over the years we have hardly ever played it because it's REALLY easy to just say "oh it's too time consuming to put the dance mat out" or "eh... i'm too tired" you know the general reasons for why you don't want to exercise. Well in all honestly it doesn't take more than 30-60seconds to throw the dance mat out and once you start doing it then you're really not that tired. Now I can go on it for about 30-90 minutes without tipping over, some days more than others. So I decided ... I think it was tuesday or wednesday of this past week... that I may as well do some DDR just so I can get some cardio in as going to the gym just wasn't working. And so I did it and added the exercise points to my weekly allotment and was shocked at how many I got. And so the next day I played it again for about the same amount of time and by Friday I'd gained so many exercise points that I was eating to keep up with them (backwards I know). All in all I lost my 1.6lbs while eating over 100 weekly points... every one that I earned I ate (if that makes any sense) and I didn't have to I was experimenting I guess... I don't know. So After about the third day of playing I realized that I really didn't like a majority of the music that is on the game (techno beat music which is fine if I know the remix of the song like neverending story theme, like a virgin, lady's night... ymcs, but horrid if it's something in japanese and I can't keep the beat). So I told dave I wanted a new game and I found the one I wanted and even though he thought it looked stupid (which generally ends up being a no we'll get something else which means we don't get anything) we got it anyway and it's been a blast. It's a Disney Channel one and while it's music that's come after my time sitting watching Disney Channel it's at least american music no techno beat that I can actually get into... like stuff i'd hear on the radio.
So... our compromise... he will have to tolerate 30-90 minutes of DDR Monday-Friday and then Saturday I go to the gym and my WW meeting. I either work out before the meeting and go to a later meeting (930) or I go to an early meeting (830) and then do my workout... either way I get to do my thing before he's really awake and I'd have been probably puttering around doing nothing because I don't eat before my weigh in.
I am hoping for a good loss this week, i'm not going to set my expectations too high, but I am hoping to at least get another 1.6lbs gone, I had hoped to be half way to 240 by may and so I do have time to make up for and I think I'll be able to at least progress comfortably now with my new workout schedule. My goal is to do my DDR and gym, but not eat all my extra points. I am still doing core because really I feel better on it as much as I hate being told no i can't eat something, if I'm working out then it's not that big of a deal for having a few points here adn there to make up for it... anyway i'd better go check on the kitties, they're outside and i'm waiting for the breadmachine to be done so I can make dave his new favorite... Orange Rolls. :)
until next time ;)
