Thanksgiving was nice. We lazed around the house, I cleaned the kitchen, made dinner rolls, pumpkin cheesecake, homemade stuffing & we cooked two small chickens and had a nice quiet and late dinner. We figure we are the only techy family that we know that doesn't have a lap top. We've been watching out for them for years and just haven't found any real great deals that we thought would do us well. This year I decided that I really wanted one because I'm always sitting outside writing while the kitties play or I'm in bed writing or watching a movie and writing... and the only downside is that it's on paper which then means, no matter how much I"ve written on my story I still have to "rewrite" it and type it up on my computer and i REALLY REALLY REALLY want to finish my ghost story so I can try to do something productive with it aside from gathering my own cult following between friends at work and the Young Women at girls camp when I tell it. Dave is always finding new things to work on and figure out with the computers and we found about three stores that all had the same lap top for sale and we decided now was the time. So... around 1100pm on Thursday we decided to check out the lines outside the store that had it the cheapest (best buy). The one by us had nobody on the sidewalk waiting, everyone was sitting in lawn furniture behind their cars bundled up against the cold drinking hot beverages.... probably close to 50people. Nobody looked very happy. So we drove on up to folsom figuring nice area most people probably already have stuff... there were a couple hundred people in the parking lot and around the side of the building on the sidewalks with tents and camping stoves. So we cruised back down hwy50 towards home and I suggested that we check out the Superwalmart... only trouble is we couldnt' remember if htey had the lap top. I decided to use my cool cellphone's horrible browser and try to see if I could browse to the walmart ad... I could! and they had the exact same lap top just about $50 more expensive. So we went to West Sac and ended up standing/sitting in line until 5am and we got our laptop. :) A few hours and a couple energy drinks later we went through Circuit City, got Carrie's xmas present and an accessory for the laptop then I-Hop and then I crashed at home for about five or six hours.
There are several things I've learned about this holiday is that I hate Black Friday Shopping, I feel horrid after staying up for over 24 hours no matter how much I've slept the day before, I retain more water than not not sleeping enough and of course not drinking enough water, and I can't wait till dave's done configuring our new toy so I can start using it:).
My WW meeting was fine today. Nothing big, still saying hello & goodbye to the same 2-10lbs. I'm trying to do Core this week to see if htat will help jump start me back in the right direction. I spent my afternoon chopping veggie's for salad toppings and should be fine for the week. We'll see how I do next week. I threw out my left over cheese cake, it was okay but not good enough to spend the points on. I'll have to see if Dave still wants the Pecan pie I bought otherwise I'm gonna chuck that. Icecream i'm keeping around because i"m finding I can't eat as much of that as i used to. And now I'm trying to stop my recent fast food binge that all started on 11/21. A friend of mine and I went to see Twilight opening afternoon and it was great but we left right after work at 1230p to go grab lunch/dinner and then we sat at the theater for a couple hours and were like the first ones in to get our seats... we had McDonalds on our way over... then the next day I had mcdonalds again... then wednesday we had Jack-n-Box... and today I had tacobell....
And on the subject of Twilight... I LOVED the movie. Yes it had its flaws, but I feel like they did the best they could with what they were given and I am THRILLED that they are moving forward with making New Moon, my only prayer is that the main cast is all back for the rest of the series. It just wouldn't be the same without them. I mean Bella & Edward are guaranteed the same supposedly but everyone else is not... my fingers are crossed.
